Enter your start and finish times, unpaid break minutes, days worked per week and hourly rate. The calculator returns the paid hours per day and per week, and the matching daily and weekly pay.

Shifts that run past midnight are handled: if the finish time is earlier than the start time, the shift is treated as crossing into the next day.

Daily hours = (end − start, +24h if overnight) − break; Weekly = daily × days per week; Pay = hours × rate

Frequently asked questions

How are overnight shifts handled?

If the end time is the same as or earlier than the start time, 24 hours are added to the end, so a 10 PM to 6 AM shift correctly counts as 8 hours.

Does this calculate overtime?

No — all hours are paid at the single rate entered. For overtime, calculate the regular-hours portion here and the overtime portion separately at its own rate.
